And so I finally get the gates balanced on the pallet and start my walk accross the gravel parking lot to the Freight House. Some farmers and grain truck drivers who have run grain in that morning are parked in a row beside the Freight House having an impromptu Coffee conference.
They are gathered in a semicircle around the front of one of the large trucks. A couple are at the front looking under the front end of the grain truck. One guy in a green hat is pointing to different places under the grain truck and appears to be explaining mechanical matters.
The semi-circle of grain haulers appear to be in a rather jovial mood for what appears to me could be a problem with the front end or steering of the grain truck.
Then the farmer doing the explaining, points his way up the stub line toward the Clover County Seat, and then brings it back as if traveling the stub line.
The semi-circle Quick Coffee Conference all have a big laugh over that one.
But then as the chuckle subsides, members of the semi-circle step back and look quickly over their shoulders. For some reason, they seem to have a haunted look about them. And then the differnt farmers and haulers climb back into their trucks and quickly exit the parking lot for the back country of the Township.
Within two minutes the parking lot is completely empty of grain trucks.
