"The English teacher remebers, "I remember when HM Weenerman volunteered to do the poundcakes for the school breakfast."
A low amount of converstaion runs through the assemblage.
"And half the town couldn’t do anything but lay around all afternoon and watch The Price is Right Reruns," the church piano-player recalls.
"And he had help," the English teacher says in a low voice, "They say it was the work of the Clover County irregulars."
I shake my head innocently, "I know nothing."
But just then Twistine walks up, bits of pizzia dough are in her hair from her earlier rehearsals, "Hello Gang, Whats you all whispering about?"
"About the times the Clover County Irregulars fed everyone those floppy pancakes at the School Breakfast," the piano-player tells her.
"Daon’t blame that on the Clover County Irregulars!" Twistine says with a laugh and a smile, "Remeber, a lot of them were laid up all afternoon watching Pak-man reruns," a lot of heads nod in agreeemnt, "The Barney Bums were in on that fiasco," she grins to recall, "One of the Weener’s schemes worked, while your all was laying around watching TV, they were off, down to the Too Much Creek, the joke-catfish were running," Twistine can’t help but giggle some more.
Many eyes turn towards me, "I know nothing that resembles any of this," I try to assert.
"And who else fishes in the Too Much Creek?" a someone else asks, "and for those runt bull-heads too?"
