Left Leg

The next hole was a dog-leg left. Literally. The object was to hit the ball down the ‘fairway’ into the bowl of a dog-statrue. Once you put your golf ball into the dogs bowl, the motorized left-leg would kick your golf ball to the left so it would roll into a favorable position for a very short, convenient putt.
Judge Patrick didn’t need our help on this one. The Judge is well known throughout Clover County and the surrounding area as being a high-quality scratch player.
At any rate the Judge’s first shot rolls into the bowl for the dog-leg kick left. His ball rolls to a shot just short of the hole for an easy tap-in.
“Good thing that we’re not playing this for money,” HM WeenerMan quips.
“”Don’t worry,” Judge Patrick replies, “Can’t, what with my position as township Magistrate and all,” and Judge Patrick grins more broadly, “Besides, I have more fun keeping folks thinking about, ‘what if?'”
The Weenerman nods, “Most logical.”
It takes me a couple shots to put my putt into the bowl for a favorable kick out. Did I mention that I had forgot my 2-degree putter?
HM WeenerMan once he misses the bowl, just goes the over-land (carpeted concrete) route.
